i have some fans with bare leads and i'm trying to find some place that sells 3 pin connectors or 4pin molex ends. i can find 3pin tp 4 pin adapters, 3 pin connectors for panaflo fans, but not just a 3pin or 4pin connector end. i could use the panaflo connector as seen here, but at $2 each, it seems a bit steep (maybe i'm just cheap)

if anyone knows of a place, please let me know

thanks!

http://www.directron.com/passthru.html
4pin pass-through type, mate-n-lock molex connectors for power connection between power supply and IDE drives such as CD-ROM, hard drive, and accessories such as case fans and CPU coolers. Each price include the housing and four metal pins. Bulk pack.

Specs: Four pins. Housing made of plastic. Color: white. Female pins with male housing. Male pins with female housing.

Notes: (1) Appropriate crimping tool is highly recommended to connect the wires to the connector pins, although not absolutely required. (2) To order both male and female ones, add this item twice to your shopping basket with different options. (3) Most connectors on a PC power supply have female pins (terminals). You need male pins to connect them.

Housing and metal connectors for 3-pin Molex connectors. Each includes one housing and three metal connectors. Loose pack in individual plastic bags. Part No. 22-01-3037-P, 08-50-0114-C.

Molex connectors are popular for connecting case fans, CPU coolers, and other accessories to the motherboard. Some of the accessories come with bare leads. However, The molex connectors are hard to find for replacements and other purposes.

Notes: (1) You must follow the following instructions to use this connector. (2) For the best result, you should use a professional crimp tool to connect the wires to the connectors.

Instructions: (1) Pin layout: with the polarizing fins facing up and the connector pins away from you, the right hand side pin is for ground (black), the middle one is 12V DC (red), and the left one is yellow for temperature sensing. (2) Make sure just enough bare wires are exposed. (3) The metal pins have two sections with a clamp mechanism. Clamp the wire with the cover on the outside metal clamps on the pins first. This would prevent the wire from being pulled away by accident because the plastic cover on the wire is relatively soft. Then clamp the bare wires with the inside clamps to make the electric contact. (4) Pull the wire slightly to make sure that the wires are attached permanently.

Hope those are what ur looking for.

they are $2/each, but to make some myself, i'll pay ~$2 in parts.

i'm asking him about a quantity discount to see if i can get them cheaper. hehehe.... if anyone needs one, let me know and i'll sell them to you at whatever he offers me!

well, i'm ALSO wanting to connect a majority of my 4pin fans to a Digital Doc 5 which only has 3pin fan connections. i COULD just cut all the 4pin connectors and splice in 3pin conectors, but i'd rather not. i HAVE found a couple of places that sell them for $2/each and i've found the parts for abou the same price. i just gotta come up with the extra cash now to buy all those parts (extra meaning cash that the wife DOESNT know about :D )
