I am just wondering if you are able to burn backup disks of software CDs. This might be a dumb question, but just wanting to know.

Yes..... though not all disk copies work, some have special coding on the disk(some games). Never hurts to try tho....

I beg to differ. It is rare that I find a CD unable to be backed up. Protected CD's, like the ones mentioned in the previous post are usually copiable via a program called CloneCD. Its fairly easy to figure out how to run.

Enjoy,

Yea, clone cd is great if your burner supports raw reading. Some recorders are not compatible with clone. CDRwin (my favorite) and Nero are good also. Adaptec Easy CD Creator is probably the most user friendly though. But, Raddy is right there hasn't been a disc I couldn't cook up and the one's that did give me trouble usually have a "patch" or fix to take care of it.
