Can you Bios flash 4890 Non O/C to O/Ced ones?

I am just curious. People are paying $15-20 more for the O/Ced version of 4890. Why not just flash the bios on it and save the $, if it's not much work?

Because you're not sure if the card can handle the extra mhz of the oced versions. If you overclock it and find it stable, then you can bios flash it to those speeds, otherwise, flasing blindly some clocks, might give you serious trouble.

There was someone here with a 4890 that didn't got even 900mhz stable out of the card, if I remember correctly.

Find what settings the videocard is stable at first

Just use something like ATI Tray Tools to OC instead of BIOS flashing. Some companies void warranties if you do.

XFX does. Asus "encourages" it as they provide a voltage tweaker with some of their cards (including the 4890) as well.

Almost all companies will void ur warranty if u do bios flashing, and hard voldmods, some will void it if they find out the heatsink was changed
