I suppose if i could afford to take the SAT II's EIGHT times, i might get near perfect in something... eight times, 3 tests each time.. 21 tries.......

Jk, it really is quite something.

good job asian parents
i wonder if her sister is treated like crap for not being "as good"

I had a Korean friend who's brother was #1 ranked student at UCLA undergrad and went on to UCSF for Med School (also had perfect grades there). His parents were were both Phd's who were #1 ranked at Korea's top University.

The brother was basically almost "dishonored" for only getting B's at Berkeley. There was a major rift in the family for not trying hard enough. What BS.

Talk about Asian "pressure" to excel.

.............I've also read about Asians who have committed suicide for getting lower than perfect grades at university.

right, perfection doesnt seem like a noble act, only a sickning one.

Too bad without social/real life skills her classmates who studied a lot less will be making more within a couple years out of college.

You people are terrible. This is a pretty impressive accomplishment, and you all try to diminish it by attacking other aspects of her life? Pathetic.

Exactly. No, not anyone could achieve perfect scores on all of those exams if they studied enough. Besides that, the majority of people don't have the motivation to come close.

She'll do just fine adjusting to the "real world;" that's what college is for.

Exactly, High School social life is sh1t compared to what you can do at college anyways.

Freshman English gave her an A-....
I always hated the English teachers that believed that you could never get a "100".

a college professor told our class he doesn't give out A's b/c only God is perfect........

My response, "But God isn't taking this class"

yay B+

"She'll probably have her pick...given her long list of extracurricular activities. She's co-captain of the school's policy debate team, founder of its math club, vice president of the National Honor Society and a board member of the California Scholastic Federation."

i'm sure her social skills are fine...she does more than just school - plus, the most talented engineers aren't in it for the money.

You can choose to take up to 3 subjects for each test. IIRC, it's $8 a subject unless you take writing, which is $15.

Heh yeah, I had one of those, too. She was pretty fair all-around, though, so that made up for it.

sweet not-clever response to your professor....

Well shes damn smart, and will have a successful career in whatever she chooses, but I still feel sorry for her. She is like a academic robot, and that is never something to be very proud of. Poor girl needs to live a little.

Of course she can be proud. She can party later in college. That's what college is for. 😀

lol...ap tests are easy if you prepare enough...or even if you don't prepare at all, depending on who you are. the sat seems to depend on careless errors and boredom (c'mon, who can stay attentive for 3 hours, i know i can't)

lol bro you can't beat a perfect score (100%) methinks maybe you didn't get an 800 on the math section of the SAT 😛 And yeah I couldn't imagine studying like that, I mean I didn't do nearly as well as her (1420) but I was pretty happy with my score and so were the colleges I applied to.

I will be the first to admit that even if I studied that much I probably would not have socres like her. Props to her hard work but hopefully she can live a little in college.
