Can You Bail Yourself Out of Jail?

if you pay a bondsmen you only have to pay 10 percent of the bond (varies from state to state) but you dont get it back.

Yea. I don't know if it was some guy from Amex or a bondsman. All I know is he called the concierge service and they took care of it.

Sure you can. Illinois, Kentucky, Oregon, and Wisconsin don't have bail bondsmen. You pay the court directly.

exactly, not only do some states not have bail bondsmen, but the ones that do the bail bondsmen aren't guaranteeing anything. They hope you show up, or they have to go find you and haul your ass back. Or they lose their $$$$ (but they do keep the 10% or whatever collateral they recieved).

some will let you use DEBIT at the station. Not credit though AFAIK, they had a special on the news about it and people felt it just made it easier for criminals to get out of jail.
