Key is to be 1.75 spaces ahead looking straight out your side windows and about a car width or more away from the line of cars.

I can't front in cause I have no idea where the front of my car is, and I'm short, so can't see shit.

I cant drive

I don't like doing it but have to. My job requires me to drive an ambulance and we back in all the time.

I just think about the truck drivers mentioned above and STFU and do it.

you have to back in an ambulance or you would never get out again 😎

Those suckers have big turning radius.

op is probably talking about a Fit.

One of my neighbors bought a small travel trailer a couple of years ago. He had been using a small "tent trailer" for camping...and when he'd get home, he disconnected the trailer in the street and pushed it into his garage...the travel trailer was too big to do that...so he asked me to teach him how to back it up.
Apparently he'd tried to back the tent trailer into a couple of campsites without any success...so he either parked it in pull-through sites, or disconnected it and pushed it into the space. 🙄

Took me a weekend to teach him how to do it properly...but now, he pulls up in the street and backs it into his driveway...almost perfectly every time.

My new car has a backup camera and it shows lines on the screen indicating bumper position, makes parallel and reverse parking super easy.

We had to back in as MP's to be ready to pull out as fast as possible. Probably why I haven't gotten anyone pregnant yet.

I'll continue the OP's strange nomenclature for clarity's sake.

"back parking" is the recommended way to park into that type of space.

"front parking" is more dangerous because when exiting the parking space into the road, your visibility is restricted. In particular, small children and other obstacles could be missed - especially in busy lots like supermarkets, etc.

By "back parking" you only drive with restricted visibility the short distance from teh road into an empty bay (which you have already verified to be empty and free of obstructions by driving past it). As the bay is not a road, it is less likely to acquire an obstruction (such as a child or shopping cart) in the time it takes you to reverse in.

There may be other restrictions which require you to "back park". E.g. it is illegal to reverse a car out of a driveway and onto a public road in some areas. Unless you have space in the driveway to turn the car around, the only legal option is to "back park".

I had to parallel park for my driver's license but never had to reverse park. Did you?

I didn't have to back into a parking spot to pass my license test. I did have to parallel park.

I can back my truck into a spot better than most people can forward park. I don't do it much, cause I can't really account for my trailer hitch - I'd pull it, but I don't have the key for the lock, and the lock is rusted to hell and back anyway so I'll have to cut it.
