can windows media play .mov files?

why dont you try? maybe WMP has a quicktime plugin, but i think if you have quicktime installed, then you get an IE plugin which may let WMP play .mov files.

i have been able to play a few .mov files in WMP, but usually they dont look right or something, and 90% of them dont work at all..

i wish there was a plugin to view .rm and .mov files in media player, I use 6.4 (anything later is heaping dog sh.it) and I real player and quicktime are even worse... i want to be able to view any media clip in media player

There is more than one program which encodes to .mov format. The older wiles will usually play fine but the ones using the new encoding format will not play at all.
