Can windows calculator do square roots/cube roots??

I cant find the button for it, even in scientific mode.

Do x^(1/2) or x^(1/3) (using the "x^y" button). There's no 'square root' or 'cube root' button.

Square roots, sure. sqrt button. At least that's what shows on Calculator in Win2k.

And in Scientific mode, you can you check the Inv box and then put in your numbers and formula, for example:

Check mark in Inv, then 125 x^y button then 3, then = button resulting in 5 (the cube root of 125).

Using the above example you can get any root power of a number you want.

Ok kewl worked. Windows got the same answer as my calculator. Thanks guys.

Man im sure glad windows is my OS of choice... what with all the compatibility and relative ease of use, yep, im sure glad its way better than that... whats it again? lunix? linex? tampax? I dont know, oh well.

Much better calculator - Graphcalc.
There may be better free ones out there, but I just haven't found them yet.
