No, MS never made a NTFS driver for Win98 because Win98 has no real concept of multiple users, security, etc which are main NTFS features.

wrong...sort of

check the sysinternals (winternals) site - i used to use the NTFS driver for win98..the freeware version only allows you to read NTFS partitions, but you can't write to them...

if you purchase the full-version, you can both read and write to NTFS partitions from win98. note: you lose some security features of NTFS.

however, u cannot install 98 on an NTFS partition.

yeah, I cant remember who makes one but I have seen drivers for NT 4 to let you read FAT32 and for Win 98 to read NTFS. I used to use the NT4 fat32 driver before win2k came out, and it worked as advertised. havent tried the ntfs win98 one

Ive used those Sysinternals apps, they come in handy for me all the time.
The NT4 OS was able to read the Fat32 drive and vice versa with no problems, great tools!

Yea I have the free version on a cd around here somewhere. If my mind serves me the one to write to ntfs was $70 a couple of years ago.
