Can white people be African Americans?

Let's say you are white, and so are your parents, but all your ancestors including your parents were born and raised in Africa for many generations back?

There's are white Rhodesian (now Zimbabwe) families that go back many generations. Same with South Africa.

Seriously, many Egyptians would pass for white with no problem, as well as South African whites (but they're euro stock), etc.

Also, a person could have just one or two white branches in their family tree and come out white or nearly so, but still be of african stock.

Now, the real question: Who cares what color you are? My heritage is Czech and Polish. So what? My wife's heritage is German and Portuguese. So what? My best friend's Mexican and Italian. Who cares?

Pics please! We only judge by appearance, since maybe some major tanning happened or some evolution. . . . Hehehe! I'm messing with you.

Really, it depends upon your definition of "African American". If you define "African American" as an ethnicity or race, then no the person you described isn't African-American. If on the other hand you define "African American" as a nationality, the person could be African-American, but not if she's still in South Africa (or Botswana or Zimbabwe or Kenya . . . you name it).
