Can we start making informative message titles?

See what I did there? You see that? I made a message title that explained just what the topic was about. I got half way through the post and then realized after my fifth F Bomb that this thread was actually a rant. So to further inform ATOT, my topic summary included "rant". Why is this so fucking hard for you guys?

Out of the ten most recent topics, two of them actually have informative message titles. Its fucking annoying. Can we work on this as a whole? Its not difficult to do, its saves people at work a lot of fucking time, and you don't look like a fucking douche for baiting people into clicking on your link.

And don't give me that "then don't view the thread" and "no one is making you click on the link" bullshit. You know how the internet works. You know the characteristics of people that go to websites like this, we are bound to click on some of the obligatory message titles; that's the whole reason you write "Simple Question" and "NNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!" in the fucking first place.

We are better than 4chan (everyone is better than 4chan) and all the other fucking forums with five year olds on them fucking around at home because they can't get their lard asses out of their chairs and they are biologically unable to masturbate without breaking for a few minutes in between faps so they troll.

Work on it. Fuck.

I think its fun, its like opening a present on Xmas. You dont know if you are going to see a thread about how someones pet bird is constipated, or a video of an all-asian Journey tribute band.

I agree. To me sometimes the title is better than the post, so at least I got something out of it.

I agree except in OT. IMO anything goes here and if you don't like it then don't wander into OT anymore.

How about no message title at all, just a page full of post! Then we can save your time at work even further by there being no links to click!

If you don't have time to click an obscure message title to see what's underneath it, then maybe you should evaluate if you have time to be here in the first place?

Work on it. Wah

What's even worse is when someone posts a news article with a nondescript subject line of "OMG", and then complains when someone makes a repost.

From now on, every topic should be completely ambiguous and the OP should post graphic ASCII porn. That'll teach you to nef at work!

Posted from work.

I like the Slashdot tagging mechanism. Let other users clue you in to a thread's uselessness with just a few short words.

I will try harder to make my thread titles less descriptive in the future just for you.

I agree with the OP.

That and at least explain what your utube link is about.
