Frankly, I'm shocked that we don't already do this. Lesser forums occupied by far scummier/younger/less-responsible people have no problem putting up a NWS notice(TribalWar comes to mind), so why the self-riotousness and refusal here?

se7enty7, that is a good point. Not just the gross or pornographic stuff, but also things that generate loud noise or possibly crash a computer in production. I got caugh off guard by that "You Are an Idiot!" flash thing and had to quickly hard shutdown my machine - luckily I wasn't working on anything that wasn't already saved.

And it's not just about being work safe. What if the person IS at home, but they have a young child nearby and the last thing they need to do is have him/her accidentally see the guy with his brains smashed across the road.

I started a new thread with a request - a simple Not Work-Safe Icon would be helpful for threads that are borderline lockable. If a MOD doesn't think it should be locked but wants viewers to be warned, they can even change the icon themselves.

give me a freaking break. Why would anyone be viewing possibly objectionable material such as that with their children nearby or in an office where they know they are not supposed to....

The idiot thing was funny. If your dumb enough to not know what you were about to click on in that thread then keep on clicking on IDIOT. You win.
LMFAO at you. :music:"You are an idiot":music:

That was a hilarious april fools prank, the funny part is that some people such as yourself didnt get the setup. :beer:

Grow up.
Ogg had a valid point. Just because it's different from your opinion, it does not mean he should be flamed. I'm afraid you're the one who needs to grow up. Oh, and get back to work

If he had a point, would you like to point it out?

I thought most people did put if their image wasn't work safe. I think anyone who posts something not work safe should inform others. :)

Ctrl+alt+delete
Then close IExplorer.
Not too hard.

Perhaps a resistance to self regulation?

Exclamation marks means important! News!
Angry = this makes me mad
Confused = need help
Cool = wow this is neat
Big grin = hey this is funny
Smile = warm fuzzy feeling
Question mark = asking a question
Sad = this makes me sad
Thumbs down = I don't approve
Thumbs up = I approve
Page = default

An icon is worth a hundred words. They help classify a thread and give the viewer perspective.

I'm not objecting to people putting "NWS" or "NSFW" in the titles...it's a common courtesy that i appreciate too. But really, what % of material on ATOT is objectionable? Very few swear words, no porn, pictures have to be linked as opposed to being embedded in the post, what more do you want?

So which is it? The majority rules? Or we should respect differing opinions?

When those few times happen where swear words, porn, etc are linked to, that there's a notice.

My point was that a majority of the people here do not need the forum to be cluttered with NWS requests. You make it seem like it is absolutely necessary that NWS warnings are used. If most of the people here needed them, then you would have a point. But a majority disagree with you, making your point meaningless. But please, continue to take my repsonses to other people and spin them to support your opinion.

I can take potshots at you because you think you are some sort of elitest who thinks he is always right. You are just an asshole who is constantly rude.

My point was that typing NWS in a post could hardly clutter the forum. Just saying "NWS" when posting certain links. "Spin" is saying that I make it seem like it was an absolute necessity, when I said that it would be a courtesy to other members - not a separate forum, not special icons.

Pointing out the contradiction in your two posts did nothing to support my opinion. But I give you credit, it didn't faze you a bit!

Well, I am an elitist and I am always right, but I'm afraid you are the one who is an asshole and rude.

How do you assume this majority? There is no poll here. I work a crummy tech support job, the majority of my day is spent surfing various sites while reciting rote to various idiots. I would appreciate a NWS icon, I know im not the only one. Im sure there are plenty of people who dont surf from work who wouldnt have a problem with people being more considerate in their threads.

No, you browse at work at your own risk.
I'm sick of people whining because they clicked a "not work safe" link.

Send the link to your boss and ask him if it's work safe.
