Crap... I am too late, aren't I? All well, I am going to just watch it on youtube or something else later. We all know it'll be on there ;)

I tried streaming it from a bunch of different sites, but I'm at work and either my connection sucks or all the sites are being overloaded (combination probably). Thus, I missed most of the speech, so I'll be 'tubing it later at home. Oh well, I saw some of it "live".

i was not trying to watch it but the network here went from slow as crap to its normal superfast state in about 30 seconds

im glad its over. makes it easier for to f with access and browse the net

FWIW Obama got his facts wrong in his speech, he said he was the 44th man but really he was the 43rd.

Can someone explain to me why some people are so excited about Obama as president? Is he the next coming of Jesus? People act like now that he's President our WORLD is going to go through a drastic change, everyone will fill up on free gas, eat cheap meals, have their own personal bodyguards, and will lose weight..... just from listening to this guy. I respect him as president - but c'mon why all the hype?

Entitlement.

Im seeing a lot of that "Im so proud to be an American today," "I'm so hopeful," etc from my non-black friends on fb. What kind of entitlement do they feel? I too think he is too hyped. But I'm happy that GWB is gone.

Until this thread OT was a nice little corner free of the relentless Obamahype.

Was it wrong to remove a few friends from facebook who were a little to excited?

Someone posted "Remember where you were on this day, you'll remember it for the rest of your life".

Nope. I'm about to start removing some friends from my Facebook as well. I'm tired of the constant Obama notes, Obama videos, etc... from them.

Stephanie Anderson literally shed some happy tears thinking about Obama's rapidly approaching inauguration. Yes we can! Yes we did.

no care

Cared just enough to come in and make sure everybody knows you don't care.
Bit like an avowed atheist walking into a church and yelling "Hey, guys, I just wanted you all to know that I don't care about Jesus! Later!"

Wow, you're all over the Obama threads today, defending the new savior. Interesting.

Show me a single post today where I've defended him ;)

Benediction at Obama 's inauguration, Rev. Joseph Lowery:

'Lord, in the memory of all the saints who from their labors rest, and in the joy of a new beginning, we ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get in back, when brown can stick around... when the red man can get ahead, man; and when white will embrace what is right. That all those who do justice and love mercy say Amen. Say Amen'...
