Can someone explain to me why some people are so excited about Obama as president? Is he the next coming of Jesus? People act like now that he's President our WORLD is going to go through a drastic change, everyone will fill up on free gas, eat cheap meals, have their own personal bodyguards, and will lose weight..... just from listening to this guy. I respect him as president - but c'mon why all the hype?

It's all about the signs, the man has a sign and slogan for everything including nonexistent offices like the Office of The President Elect.

You know, all kidding aside, that is truly the one aspect of this I do understand. Even though I disagree with the man on almost everything I do hope the one positive thing that comes out of this is the diminution of Race Inc in this country.

I think the reason this is so hyped is because everyone hyped it up. The media, and everyone else just uber-hyped it. I felt excited about it even, and I had to think, "Why am I excited again...? Oh yeah, lookin' at nudes..." :p I know, I am not funny. :'(

They still think he's black when he might just be half black. Even then, he's not the ghetto black like many that voted for him. They have yet to realize he's nothing like them.

Eventually reality will set in when they're still struggling at or below the poverty line.

I was on CSPAN and the video went out

Then MSNBC and the video eventually failed

Then I went to CNN adn the video went out

But I kept the local npr radio station streaming and it has been there for me. I have one of the streams coming and going but muted and listening to the out of synch audio form npr.

Was it wrong to remove a few friends from facebook who were a little to excited?

Someone posted "Remember where you were on this day, you'll remember it for the rest of your life".

Sitting in my office listening to In Flames trying to get the fing access database to cooperate with me?

Cared just enough to come in and make sure everybody knows you don't care.
Bit like an avowed atheist walking into a church and yelling "Hey, guys, I just wanted you all to know that I don't care about Jesus! Later!"

Wow, you're all over the Obama threads today, defending the new savior. Interesting.

Nope. I'm about to start removing some friends from my Facebook as well. I'm tired of the constant Obama notes, Obama videos, etc... from them.

Hulu was a slideshow. cspan wouldn't load. Buy NY times streaming has been great so far.

I can totally understand this. It's called hope. I am not saying he is the messiah and will save everyone. I am saying that is what he is selling and sold it to the American public. It is a good thing I think for USA to be that way, it has always been built on dreams.

What I don't get is the Canadians going nuts. some even went down to DC...

Ahahahhhaa

every channel is showing people intently listening to all the boring bullshit after obama's speech...

except fox. they are showing intermittent shots of the mass exodus of people trying to get the fuck out of there.

I tried streaming it from a bunch of different sites, but I'm at work and either my connection sucks or all the sites are being overloaded (combination probably). Thus, I missed most of the speech, so I'll be 'tubing it later at home. Oh well, I saw some of it "live".
