Can we evacuate los angeles in 3-4 days in emergency?

This question was inspired by asteroid thread. If we found out that asteroid will hit for ex Los Angeles in 3-4 days, could we evacuate all the people out of Los angeles in time? If not Los Angeles, can we evac any modern city in couple of days if needed?

Nope. Flying in over LA at night and thinking about supply chain breakdown convinced me more than ever that I would NEVER want to live in LA. The place is a death trap - no local water sources, no local food supply, high risk major earthquake area, easily disrupted sewer and garbage service and zillions of people with a history of mass rioting.

however, if one turns to cannibalism, that place is a buffet line.

It would be easier to rename the city after which officials could proclaim "You're safe. You're not in Los Angeles anymore."

To me if ever they evacuate a city they should disallow any vehicle larger then a 4 wheeler. Cars are what make such an evacuation slower. You can fit many pedal bikes and 4 wheelers / motorcycles on roads compared to cars. If everyone is going 5-10km/h steady at a safe pace it could potentially be possible to evacuate. Then again, what do you do about hospitals, or elderly people in old age homes? You wont see a grandma pulling out her pedal bike and biking away from town LOL.

Though for most people walking or biking out is feasable, especialy in a city like that where the weather is good. Where I live, it would not work. Walk a few miles and you freeze to death if not well dressed.

Be sure to wash and cook them thoroughly or you will get a nasty case of food poisoning, and probably a few STD's.

Can we come to where you live and hang out at the Arbys?

4 days? Sure. Turn all the interstates out-bound and I'm sure you could get anyone who wanted to leave out in a day.

Hahaha, really? We stopped in LA when we went on a CA roadtrip vacation. We spent the entire time there on the 405, it was wonderful.
