LA is a restaurant burger paradise right now. I would encourage you to check out the non-chain burger joints for their burgers (e.g. not umami, counter)

for example:

of course, if you must hit up Umami I understand.

Nah, I'm fine with whatever is good, I just don't really know any better and the Umami is the best one I've had in quite a while. That link is awesome and is making me very, very hungry! 😀

Widowmaker at Claim Jumper during happy hour, $8, well worth it and available medium rare.

Bánh Mì Vietnamese sandwiches at Tan Hoang, Kolaches at bakery next door.

Lunch buffet at Acapulco, carnitas tacos, weird shit, amazing chocolate chip cookies.

AYCE buffets; Chinese, Indian, whatever. When its good its great, when its bad its still pretty good.

Souplantation when you want to pretend a plate of salad before eating a bowl of hot pudding filled cake covered in ice cream is healthy.

New Orleans shrimp at King's Fish House.

Brunch at Taps fish house.

I died a little bit on the inside.

I just went through the Taco Bell drive through for some authentic Mexican cuisine. Stay away from the Cinnabon things, very addictive.

Funny, our local newspaper puts out a "Best Of" list every year.

Guess who won best tacos? 😱😱🙄🙄

G Burger in La Habra is excellent (they also just opened locations in Irvine and Fountain Valley). I haven't tried Umami, but my friends who have tried both said G Burger is better. The white truffle burger, add avocado

I was browsing the Slater's 50/50 menu today. I wanna go try that chili burger with Fritos, never been there yet, my buddy has and had the PBJ burger.

I ate the most wonderful things today: an la street dog, followed by a mcrib encore. Ujelly?

I went here last night and let me tell you, I had the 2nd best burger I've ever had. It was a Kobe Beef Burger and I put some of their homemade bleu cheese on it. Oh god, soooo good!

Also, the BEST Gyros I've ever had come from here. The owners wife is Greek and she makes AMAZING food. I love getting "Greek Fries" which are fries with Feta on top.

Tito's? Cause that annoying commercial is on during the news quite often.

I love tito's too!

That ad still run early morning on Channel 4? Commercial time must be pretty cheap before 6 AM.

I'm heading back home for Christmas this year. Will be keeping an eye on this thread in case I forget some things on my list.
(my personal list of favorites are a bunch of smaller, mom-and-pops that serve asian food. Stuff that's hard to get and not as good in New England)

More like running on channel 4 in the early evening, like between 5:00 and 5:30. I always wondered the air time price for them to be running it as often as they do.

Slaters is GOOD.

One of the best thing's I've eaten in god knows how long. They also have great burgers, but imho I'd go to The Counter over them for one. Counter has way better fries too.

What's on your burger? Looks good.

That shake, or whatever it is, sounds nauseating. D:

KT

If I remember correctly, it was a Pretzel Bun, 50/50 (50% Bacon/50% Beef), Grilled Onions, Over Hard Egg, Thai Chilli Sauce, and (Cheddar?) Cheese.

The shake was amazing. They had a maple syrup shake. THAT sounds nauseating lol.

Last time I was at The Counter I tried the pretzel bun, its added absolutely ZERO flavor. Even my buddy, who likes everything agreed.
