Can VPN hide Monero/Crypto mining traffic from firewall?

I am wondering if using a paid VPN service will obfuscate the network traffic when mining monero or other crypto currencies? Its primarily the traffic going back forth the mining pool that I want to hide.

This is why its important to pick one that keeps no records/logs.

It will, but depending on how cranky your IT team is, they may look for odd use patterns or flag vpn traffic. So don't mine **** at work.
