I am toying with the idea of putting the 2-4 extra pc's I have to work running the UD client. But since they are only about 400-500MHz each, they probably won't be able to process enough to justify the electricity it cost to run them.
I was wondering if building a small cluster with the machines would help boost output enough to use them.
Has anyone done this before? I figure I can use one of the many trial packages of 2k or 2k3 advanced server i have to run the clustering service, or maybe MP-MPICH. I think either way will be a fun learning experience regardless.
Of course, its probably more worth while to sell the systems and build a $250 box with a Barton in it for crunching.
Thanks.
