My thoughts exactly. Care to share a little more info? Are you thinking about unlocking an Athlon T-bird? I think you read the How-To's wrong.

Most likely to hard mod the default multiplier on the processor for use on boards that aren't OC friendly.
If I was to go dual, I'd just buy an XP1700+ to go with my XP1500+ and change the default multiplier to the same thing on both processors...after testing max speeds on a OCers board of course. 😀
 
I've heard of people burning them with electrical current. I don't remember the exact method though. 9-volt battery???
