i have an old lap top and now i have a p3 800mhz cpu from my old desktop , i was wondering if you can get a new mobo with a cpu slot for my cpu for an olde t.e. laptop

Desktop CPUs and moblie CPUs are different. Moblie CPUs have to run at a lower temperature, consume less power, and be smaller. Even if they weren't, you would have an extremely difficult time finding the mobo. This is why people only build desktop PCs and not laptops. It's just too hard, takes too much time, and too expensive.
