Comparatively priced plasmas typically have better picture quality than comparatively priced LED or LCD TVs. Picture quality being derived from the following for aspects in order from most important to least important: contrast ratio, color saturation, color accuracy, and resolution. Plasmas also excel at viewing angles, so if you're off to the side of the TV, the picture will look perfect, which can't be said of backlit TVs (LCD & LED).

Another question you need to ask yourself is what size to get, which is determined by your viewing distance from the TV. You can look at this calculator and this chart to help determine the recommended size of TV, or you can post your viewing distance on here. Without knowledge of your viewing distance but staying in line with the price of your previous links, I'd recommend the Panasonic TC-P50G10.

Also, for more TV knowledge and better recommendations, you should post in our Audio/Video & Home Theater forum. avsforum also has a wealth of information, but it can be overwhelming if you don't know what you're looking for.

For the price point

these 2 tv's stood out

the Samsung for 1139 from amazon
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...sr=1-3&seller=

and a sony for 1039
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...sr=1-4&seller=

a guy at work mentioned visio...isnt visio walmart's house brand? as dynex is to best buy?

i did notice the 650 for the samsung. but that was 1359..which is 200bux more than id llike to spend :)

I would also take a look at the Toshiba 46XV645U if I were you. I have the 40" version (40XV645U) and it is very nice with the Xbox. The price is also very reasonable (less than both of the above sets).
