When I overclock my p4 2.6c, I notice my fsb rises also. The normal bus speed is 800mhz-a %10 increase also increase the bus speed %10. Can any damage occur ? I oc the system using the asus feature in bios and I have very good cooling. asus p4p800 deluxe
1gig corsair pc3200 ddr

Well the FSB is linked to the processors speed so it would rise if the speed was raised. I have A64 so the FSB goes up to make the speed go up. Anyways i dont think any damage can be caused if everything stable and the temp is ok as long as you havent put the voltages up or anything im told that voltages can screw over a cpu if upped too much :(

No you will not hurt anything. The only thing that causes damage is adding more voltage. You will however generate more heat, but since you have a decent cooler than you are fine. The asus automatic overclock option will automatically lock your agp/pci and ide bus so that they won't be damaged. Don't worry you are not causing any harm to your system. The motherboard you have is excellent. You should be able to do a 20% overclock with your current setup. If I were you I would not use the automatic overclock though because it sets your memory to run with a divider. I think you can run the memory 1:1 with a 220fsb and gain some more bandwidth
