Playing BF2 is pretty aweful. I play a bunch of warcraft 3 and that's pretty much it. I'm only waiting for splinter cell: double agent to come out.

I've been meaning to upgrade to a conroe. But it's either conroe upgrade (ds3, e6300, 2gb corsair) or lcd + new graphics card.

I'd much rather get a dell 24" LCD and upgrade to a 7800gs, but i'm wondering if the rest of the system can hold out another 6mo ~ 1yr? Thoughts?

Thoughts? It'll hold as long as you can bear it to. I'd go for the monitor, see what graphics card you can pick up off FS/FT and then wait for vista to roll on in.

I would upgrade to PCI-E. Ram is $216 -30 rebate (chiefvalue) corsair ddr 800 2gb. $150 for ds3, and like $200 for e6300. Then gfcard about $300 (x1900xt/x or 7900gt). So the cost would be about the same.

Dell LCD (600-650) + 7800gs (200-250).

The cost is about the same, but I'm just worried the rest of the system would bog it down.

The rest of your system would definitely drag down a 7800GS, not to mention that an X1900XT or 7900GT would absolutely kill a 7800GS.
