Does this card have any problems as geforce 7900?

Can it cut games like Fear, BF2, Quake 4, Farcry with hdr and other top games at
1280*1024 maxed out including hdr, soft shadows and everything else, 4x aa and 16x af

Try the edit button next time you just tripple posted this...
I would say yes but I donno about soft shadows can anything run with soft shadows?

It'll be pretty damn close, if not able to completely max with nearly all games at that resolution.

Oblivion & future titles withstanding of course...

7900 what? GT? GTX?

You do know that with Far Cry you will not have AA with HDR right? It will help with performance, but degrade image quality. Personaly, I can't stand the jaggies. I'll put away HDR before I sacrifice straight edges.

does 1900xt have probs like 7900s

If you are talking about quality problems then no,
I have yet to see any x1900 series being RMAed the first two weeks personally,
however, I have seen at least 5 two weeks old 7900GTs (eVGA and XFX) that artifact or causes system lockup and needed to be RMAed.

ur athlon winnie might become a bottleneck. So i suggest u either do an upgrade or u oc it to around 2.6ghz.
And ur ram is lacking as well,u need minimum 1gb.(2gb recommended)

Sorry about that,i just checked ur sig when i wrote that.
And if u don't want to oc ur processor,ur cpu will be a bottleneck which will hamper performance.
And what resolution do u intend to game at?

Your rig will handle it fine. Your CPU will become a bottleneck but even the fastest current cpus show limitations on some games although but never enough to render the game below 40fps. The difference in performence when you upgrade from that GT will put a smile of your face.

I use a X1800XT512 and Fear on my old LCD @ 1280 x 1024 ran flawlessly. 1600 x 1200 runs crap though. As for BF2 @ 1600 x 1200 4xAA 16xAF i get killer frame rates, very rarley hits 30fps. Usually sticks around 60.

I say get the card 🙂

The cpu should be fine. Though there are defective cards from any manufacturer, I've seen much less ppl posting about RMA'ing a x1900xt than a 7900gt. And a single x1900xt will handle just about any game with maxed out settings at 1280x1024, with the possible exception being Oblivion.

LOL, no, the 7900gt SLI would be faster in almost all the games, again with the possible exception being Oblivion.

like i said earlier, its always better to have 1 single card than have a dual card setup.Sure the 7900 gt sli will beat the x1900 xt in benchmarks but u'd spend around $200 more, for a bit(i mean a little)more performance.
Oh and by the way the new 7300 gt destroys the 6600 gt,and guess what,it's an entry level card.

Actually with Farcry, using the 1.33 patch you can get HDR with AA on ATI cards. Tested it myself and it did work. You have to enable the HDR through the console though I think.

how is gecube?

Nothing special ... Just another reseller, the only X1900's with any tangible advantage other then price are Powercolor with a lifetime warranty (on retail cards) and a couple with quieter/more effective cooling solutions like the HIS IceQ cards.
