Hello all.
I currently have a 3com wireless gateway coming right off my cable modem. Its fine for the wireless to my laptop and such, but it has 0 port forwarding choices, etc. I cannot host any type of games or get file transfers on icq and such because of this.
So what I want to do is grab a linksys normal router (not wireless). I want it to come right off my cable modem and then go into my two main PC's in the room, and then into the wireless gateway which will then only run the laptops internet.
My question: Is this possible? Will it cause any problems?
Reason for wanting to do this: I want to use the wireless for the laptop but need a router with port forwarding and configuration for hosting, and other transfers.
Thanks for any input.
