"Now" is life's variable i. i is temporary but everything must pass through it at least once while it is being processed. Think about it.

But then the question is at what point does NOW become THEN? And when does the FUTURE become NOW?

Things that have been NOW, but aren't NOW anymore have become THEN. And things that will be NOW, but currently aren't NOW are the FUTURE. It's always NOW because it can never be THEN or the FUTURE.
