I know the new cards now run on a 2.0 PCI-E slot but heard they are backwards compatible.

My motherboard is a GigaByte GA-680SLI-DQ6 board. its an SLI board

need to know soon before i order a GTX280 card.🙁 dont want to end up getting a card that doesnt work with my board.

PCI-E 2.0 is backward compatible with 1.1. The only difference is that it will run at the 16x 1.1 standard which is equal to 8x in 2.0 in terms of bandwidth. It will work no problem, maybe a few frames slower is all.

so as long as it works, its great for me, well actually for my little sister that is. Just wanted to make sure so that it wouldn't be in vain to get them.

thanks NullSubroutine
