Can someone who read the books explain why the dwarves

I haven't read the books but if I had, I'd probably think "Cool story bro" and not "why didn't the dwarves do such and such instead"

But then I tend to be more interested in reality like "HTF do magnets work" rather than, "HTF do dwarves work" but that's just me.

The Lord of the Rings books are entertainment. Nobody is suggesting that Middle Earth is real.

Dwarven men tend to delve too deep, and that awakens an ancient evil which then kicks them out of bed and makes them sleep on the couch until they learn how to make love to a lady properly.
