Phil Foster: He turned the gun sideways! That's a kill shot!

omg lol. <insert citizen kane golf clap gif>.

hope those gangsters are wearing eye protection, with most pistol ejection patterns a side grip is bound to send a nice hot spent casing right into your eye.

Holding a handgun sideways is "supposed" to naturally aim the pistol without having to use the sights.

When people point at something, they usually turn their knuckles up with their hand in a horizontal position.

Hold the pistol sideways with your trigger finger pointing at whatever you want to shoot, move finger to trigger, fire.

From what I have seen, the sideways grip is mostly used by gangsters that dont know what sights are for.

"As a result of its portrayal in film and television, the side grip is emulated in segments of popular culture that value coolness and aggressiveness, notably African American gangster and black culture, and has been increasingly used in armed crime.[4][1] The style has become a cliché in black culture to such an extent that a 2009 New York police statement could describe a criminal as flipping his "gun on its side like a character out of a rap video".[5]"

Yep, I was gonna say it's a cultural thing. Wiki concurs.

Huh...that's a first, really I've never seen anyone point that way before...does Apple have a patent on that too?

People point sideways all the time.

I prefer to point with my hand horizontal rather then vertical.

I heard it was initially because the piece of shit guns most gangsters used would jam up unless they directed the shell discharge directly down so that the shell casing could fall out. Of course eventually it became just the way gangsters did things.

It is good at ejecting hot brass right back at the shooter's face. Always a fun time, especially with glasses on because then a hot casing can get caught between your glasses and your cheek.

Maybe I should pay more attention...

That logic would only work if they were all left handed

Because it's hard to hold a hand gun vertical while running away.

I recall Mythbusters doing an episode about various "movie style" methods for holding/shooting a gun, including sideways.
