Can someone tell me how muzzle loaders are superior to archers?

if i'm not mistaken the damage caused by a muzzle loader is very high. a musket ball was known to travel through several people at times taking clothing and other items with it which caused extremely high infection rates and massive amounts of internal damage. The 1 arrow = 1 kill possibly. 1 musket ball = up to 5 kills more than likely.

I don't know about that.

I do know that early musketballs were made such that, intentionally or not, they would *explode*. All that lead shrapnel spread out inside the victim made extraction hard and lead poisoning a higher possibility.
