[Mar 23 02:34:41 UTC] Summary: 8 RC5 packets (42*2^28 keys)
0.00:55:36.03 - [3.33 Mkeys/s]

what does it all mean? ;)

It means you're ripping right along at a tasty keyrate... :)

I'd guess you have about a 1 Ghz machine there?

Well... if your dnetc.ini file reads "rc5@tacube.com" it means you're cracking for the hottest miniteam on the planet... ;)

It means you've done 42 RC5 packets, totaling up to 42 work units, in 55 min, 36 seconds, 3 millaseconds.:)

OK, I'll answer the question.

[Mar 23 02:34:41 UTC] Summary: 8 RC5 packets (42*2^28 keys)
0.00:55:36.03 - [3.33 Mkeys/s]

On Mar 23, your computer sent 8 completed RC5 packets back to a keyserver. Those 8 packets will count as 42 stat units.

It took 55:36.03 (55 minutes, 36.03 seconds) to do the work, which calculates out to 3.3 Million keys per second.

Since the best possible rate for a T-Bird is a multiple of 3.4, your T-Bird is running at an RC5 equivalent of 975 MHz, not quite up to your overclocked speed of 1200 MHz. Are you running a screensaver or playing video games?

Any other questions? Be sure to ask.

If you were doing OGR, your entry would look like this:

[Mar 23 02:19:26 UTC] Summary: 7 OGR packets (452.07 Gnodes)
0.14:34:51.99 - [8.61 Mnodes/s]

but it pretty much the same idea.

I see from your "rig" profile that you are running Win2K pro. In the Task Manager, if you look at elapsed time of processes, is there anything else with significant time? (more than 1% of DNETC's time)

Do you run Microsoft Office? Have you deleted the indexes in FindFast? (in the control panel, open FindFast and do a "File" "Delete Index" for any line entries. Is your screensaver either NONE or Blank Screen?

Does your Anti-Virus program run daily?
Did you do a De-Frag?

lots of CPU users, some are good, some are a waste. Still a pretty good rate though. :)

If I add up my Win2K elapsed times, during the time DNETC used 16 hours, 1 minute, all other processes only used 2 minutes 13 seconds.

That gives DNETC a whopping total of 99.7% of my T-Bird.
