can someone recommend a simple am/fm radio

Why listen when you can watch? I live stream the Rockies from the visiting teams feed. I have basic cable so I don't get the games on tv.

otherwise, i'd go to goodwill/thrift store and see what they have

That depends on the station, most of them wont do it because of bandwidth costs and using a smart phone app is going to cost an arm and a leg in data charges when radio is free.

For $10 you're probably looking at second hand though, even if you build your own the parts and tools will cost more than that.

Check yard sales, you'll probably run across clock radios and stuff. I had this super old clock radio I got at a yard sale as a kid, wish I had kept it, it actually had the old style rolling digits like you see in lot of movies.

unless you prospect in the river? firstrowsports doesn't have game streams, neither does espn3 or mlb.tv unless I pay so I really could give a shit less. besides i'd rather just have a tiny am/fm radio than bother with a crappy stream

I recommend the Sony sr59 the person posted over the coby from the last link. it's an excellent radio, the sound quality is superb... It's only $5 more, but it will serve you well.
