can someone point me to networking forums that you know about elsewhere on the net.
e.g --> brainbuzz.com

I have lots of networking questions and issues for a network spread over 5-6 buildings within a 1-mile radius.
cisco,nortel,3com routers and switches and Fiber,FDDI connections.

mucho gracias

You'll not find any better than with the highly technical user shelf of this forum however for sheer numbers hardforum at HardOCP is a decent one. ARS Technica. Shark's is not terrible.

ARS
Sharky's

Then there are dozens of low volume BBS's that have the occasional qualified expert that hangs out.

Sysopt.com
TechIMO.com
Tom's Hardware
Hardwarecentral.com

But I'll say it again. If you can't find what you need here then your probably in trouble.

I really do not mean to be obnoxious. 😱

Would you expect an Architect that is about to build 100 floors Hi-Rise looking for advice in Internet Forums?

Would you expect a Surgeon that his about to perform an Heart Transplant looking for a Forum?

There is a level of Expertise in certain situations that you either know the issues or you hire an expert.

If I would catch an employee of mine who is suppose to deal with issues of such magnitude (as mentioned above) looking for help in Forums, I would fire him the next day.

I hate to say it Jack, but I disagree - I think that socializing ideas and getting advice from your peers is very vaulable. There's a lot of companies out there who have a limited networking staff and just need some ideas or feedback to go all the way. I think that, as long as you understand your professional and personal limitations that discussing issues with people on this kind of forum is just fine.

That being said, getting advice from others in this manner is certainly not a substitute for personal real-world experience and an in-depth knowledge of the situation. For a SOHO user, fine. For an enterprise, this shouldn't be your only source of feedback and design discussion.
