Can someone point me out a good free C++ compiler?

If you know of one, please share. We use Microsoft Virtual C++ in school, but they don't sell a cheap student version to us, so I'm looking for one to use at home. Any help's appreciated.
 
You can buy a student version of VC++ even if your school doesn't sell it. There are some sites online that sell academic software.
