I never used RAID, do not wanna given the way I choose to do internal backup, so just went into bios and see this stuff.

What is it? It's the way the system was confgured when I got it.

Many thanks.

But not to me, Jaydip. Were it, I would not have posted, much less taken the pic.

Is integrated NIC RAID? I honestly do not know!

Edit: I just did a search and it seems this is only about ethernet/LAN, yes? If so, I guess I should leave things as they are in this part of the bios, right?

Where do I find RAID settings??

Yes you should leave things as they are.Regarding raid you can do it from windows itself. If you are into performance you need raid cards.

1.Right click on computer and click manage.
2.When computer management opens click on disk management on the left side. Any disk you want included in your RAID you need to delete them from the top area of disk management.
3.Once they are deleted you should only be left with disks you do not want included in the RAID. The other disks will still be there but they will show up in the lower pane and show their spaces as unallocated.
4.Right click on the first disk you want included in your RAID and select new spanned/striped/mirrored volume according to your needs.

They are definitely not, you have to create them manually. You see you need at least two drives before you can start creating raid arrays.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I luv U!

I do have two HDDs....I always install a second in my Optis for backup. In this case, New Volume is the drive which came with the system with the messed up W 7 Enterprise. The original owner had a locked partition, and I could no way, no how get normal admin permissions to do anything. Like download my apps.

So, when the proper restore media from the cute Dell guy arrived, I did a clean install on one of my spare drives (Piggy), reformatted the original drive and did a clone of Piggy to it using my usual Xclone. I can boot into either drive. (Is any of that clear? lol)

YOU....have made my day. You are a lovely human. Who cares if I never sleep again? I mean it.

XXXOOO

Another point, you should also receive a warning letting you know that if your operating system is on one of these volumes you won’t be able to start installed operating system because the volume is now a dynamic volume instead of a logical volume.

Hey, Mr. Healthy and NICE with intact joy!

K....let me reiterate, I know (and do) more than you think babe, everyone texts me to hurry up and come over when their systems get messed. I Am happy to help if I can, it is very fun …but they gotta pay for any parts I need. Tho I do get them, often on ebay.

As I posted, I did what I do in all my Optis: I installed the second drive ( the original drive with the messed up W7 Enterprise, now called only New Volume), turned on its controller, I formatted it, and cloned Piggy (now my main drive) into it using XXclone. Haven’t named it yet cause I am running out of animals. lol
As always, also made it bootable using “Cool Tools” in XXclone. Unlike most of the others, XX does not use imaging. It rocks. Been using it for years. So, As usual, I can boot into either drive.

Thanks so much again…..for being a truly fine human!

A NIC is NOT RAID it's the network card!

My God.....first, I posted that somewhere above when I discovered it. Desperate to diss much?

But far more important, JOHN, only the most miserable and damaged, CRAVEN humans diss any other living being for being whole enough to ask honest questions when they don't know things!

Being healthy, secure, and happy, I have no problems at all, asking for info when I need to, nor do I have any sick, truncating need to pretend I know things I do not yet know. NOR FOR ME, is anything A CONTEST or COMBAT.

My God.....how sad this is! On a site whose glorious mandate is to help individual humans with tech issues????

I have no idea what you were deprived of, or what harsh things got done to you early on.....but please try to remember I had nothing to do with it.
