I am building a computer, and I have everything ready to go except for my cooling system. I was hoping someone would be able to give me some suggestions on what fans to buy, how many I would need, and all that other cooling stuff.

Here's the computer I'm building:

  • Case: Lian Li All Aluminum
    Motherboard: Microstar K7T Pro2 KT133 Socket-A ATX
    CPU: AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1.2GHz
    Video Card: 3dfx Voodoo 5 5500 AGP 64MB
Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar WD450AA
Sound Card: Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live! X-Gamer
    Network Card: 3Com 3C905C
    Memory: 128MB PC133 Corsair SDRAM

Alright, so there's my components. Now if you would be able to tell me what I should do for cooling, I'd greatly appreciate it (also, please let me know any parts I might want to change).

Thanks.

w/ my antec sx830 i have 2 fans blowing air in the case and 2 fans in the back blowing out. make sure your rig's got a good airflow system. you don't really want any "hotspots". what i did to improve the airflow in my system was what maximumpc did to their "mini dream machine". i had my ribbon cables line up against the case [next to the motherboard]. instead of all the crap in the middle of my case i have a lot of space for a smooth airflow.

whoa that's a really nice case. i dunno if you're gonna do any modifications to the case but i guess just have fans blowing into the case from the front and fans blowing out of the case from the back. i don't know a lot about cooling but this is what i suggest

Shu8, can you point me to that "Mini Dream PC" article? Or I would appreciate it if you can send me pictures of your system.
