i made the leap of assuming you mean places in the UK to buy amd heatsink-fans?

going from memory, some of the better places for quality hsf in uk are:

for the next question, thermalright is a good brand for either heavy overclock or uber quietness (depends what fan you pair it with), zalman for quietness, stock will do if you dont overclock and arent really fussy about noise.

The holy grail of Socket 939 HSF is currently the Thermalright XP-120 closely followed by the Coolermaster Hyper 6 (for which you will need to get a different fan because the stock fan sucks).

Too right! at £37.60 i should hope it is!.. So does this Thermalright XP-120 require a fan? Will the stock work?... and is the fan supposed to blow down into the heatsink, or suck the air up and out?

yeah, it takes a 120mm fan :eek; (generally, the larger the fan means the larger the blades, so the slower it needs to turn to blow enough air, and that means it makes less noise per unit of airflow - an oversimplification, but the general idea). the stock amd fan by comparison is 60mm.

note you will need to buy a fan seperately, which might seem a bit poor but is a strengh of thermalrights since you get to choose according to your noise vs. performance preferences. you ight want to have a look in your case and check if this massive thing will fit in there ok.

the fan would blow down onto the heatsink, relatively very few heatsinks suck air up through it.

Thank you for the great advice Davgod. Thermalright is indeed the best heatsink out! Hopefully wont have too mcuh trouble mounting it to socket 939 (Asus A8V).

No it demonstrates that you frequent another HW site. Just because you've read a single article on a topic on another site doesn't mean anything to us.

Other's replies are competely irrelevant to my reply. I didn't need an answer to the question so why would I read other posts. You're the one that needs an answer.

Why would I make any assumptions about what your end action might be when you simply asked for "AMD CPU cooling links?" My replies were directly related to the question of finding said links, not my problem if you didn't really want the information. If you're upset with the replies you got it's likely because you didn't ask for what you really wanted.

you asked for amd cooling links...not places in the UK to buy products....

sounds like someone needs some researching skills....you can also use google to search for tips on how to use google!

Step 1: Look up reviews on cooling products (google: amd cooling reviews)
Step 2: Figure out a few products you like and maybe ask the ATGH crew what they think about them.
Step 3: Look up best price on the product (maybe Froogle, pricewatch, dealtime, etc)
Step 4: Try to buy it and hope they can ship to the UK...if they cannot repeat step 3

Hmmm you're still reading these threads after 2 years and a few months (though I don't see how that makes any difference) and you're entitled to your opinion, it likely means something to someone. No skin off my back and like I said if he doesn't like the answers he got it's no one's fault but his own. Regardless of my number of years registered people will always post topics like this and people will always answer them (as you've done and seen) obviously they expect people to click them and answer whether they like the answers or not is up to them.
