Can someone please help? Which one Do I use

Hi there, after consideration, I am going to perform a low level format which I hope will make my hard drive think it has no data whatsoever on it. Well thats what ive been told!
Its a maxtor 4r080j0, and have been told to download the software form the manufacturers site. I have done this and have been told to dload two different ones. One is Max Blast 3 and the other Powermax. Unfortunately I am very novice at this, so if someone could give me a definate answer of which one to use that would be a great help
Also do I need the driver for the hard drive or will windows xp boot disk soprt all that out when the disk is formatted. Sorry guys

Im trying to completely wipe the dirve, basically going beyond a format and doesnt powermax have that ability that max blast doesnt? Doesnt max blast just do a nromal format like an xp boot disk?
