Then there is Mormai (Brasil) and Aleeda (USA)

What are you looking for in a wet suit?

Since prices are so high, you might consider getting a custom suit made for a bit more - taken proper care of they will last a very long time. . . I got a "generic" full suit from Mitch's Surf Shop, La Jolla for $100 over 12 years ago that is still working very well for me even though I had to restitch it to fit me exactly.

Try a 5/4 for Winter and consider the neoprene separates underneath for the really cold days.

Have you considered a move to Hawaii? That's where all the serious surfers "end up". 😀

I moved to North Shore for 8 years during the 90s and my surfing skills greatly improved. 😉

henderson gold core is the suit for you in Maine. expensive but it was last you a long time, fits better and retains body heat better than the others.

If you were in Calif. I'd recommend a custom made suit. It's actually cheaper in the long run.

i'll get booties and a hood for the winter. what are these neoprene underthingies you speak of? link me? i'll just use those under a 4/3 or a 5/4 for the winter

I'd buy Hotline or O'neill, but mainly because I have this hometown brand loyalty thing... and they're both Santa Cruz companies.

I mean, I spent years surfing if front of Jack O'neill's house...

I use a 3/2 quicksilver hollowfiber and I have never been cold here in San Diego. All the seams are glued and sealed actually not much water gets in at all except a little when I go under big waves.

For really cold water - never ever get a suit that fits imperfectly.

It MUST be a PERFECT fit. Actually - in Maine Winter water - your life depends on it.

Don't skimp - get a custom made suit . . . the extra hundred bucks or so is worth it. 😉
