Hmmm.
Lets just say, theoretically speaking, that a firewall might forbid http://www.ebay.<auction>, but not http://www.aol.ebay.<auction>, however http://www.aol.ebay.com resolves directly to http://www.ebay.com, so in order to bypass a firewall that might theoretically be blocking ebay.com you have to go directly to an auction link and add in aol.

Theoretically speaking of course. 😉
