Can someone identify these speakers?

I found someone advertising some rather large speakers for sale through local classifieds. They say the brand is "Loyu" but I can't get any information other than that.

Here's some info I got:

3 way ( 3 driver ) system, High Performance.
Designed by ( IN ? ) USA
POWER RATING 200 W
SENSIVITY 90 db
FREQUENCY RESPONSE 30 - 20000Hz
IMPEDANCE 6 ohm
All information taken off the speaker ID Plate

Here's a pic:

He's asking $150 for both a tall (36") pair AND a smaller 24" pair. Even if they turn out to be mediocre, that's still not a bad deal, in my opinion.

Sounds a lot like "white van" speakers to me.... Anything that says "high performance" on it is pretty likely to be crap

A quick google pulls up no such speaker company. I vote the white van guys have moved to the classifieds.

Who are the White Van people, anyway? I'm thinking it's one particular company with a really weird marketing strategy..

White Van Speakers: http://www.doggdigitalaudio.com/

These are not Dogg Digital or any "white van" companies that I know of.

This guy is selling two pairs of the speakers in my original post for $150, which is phenomenal even for sh!tty tower speakers. Also, he told me that the original SRP was $250 and $300 for the two sizes respectively, but these speakers never made it to market.

Even if they're crappy, that's not a horrible deal.

Gonna go by there this weekend and check them out I think.

$150 for 2 pairs... really not a bad deal especially you can pick them up in person, at least you will know their performance and make sure they do exist...

This sounds EXACTLY like a white van deal. Either the white van dealers themselves, or someone who got screwed by them.

Huh? I know the brands and the "gimmicks" white van dealers use, and there are none of them here. The white van speakers are sold under "Dogg Digital" or "Digital 2000" or something to that effect, are hyped up beyond belief, and "retail for over $1000". This guy is making no outrageous claims about their performance or price. Apparently they were manufactured by a Chinese company that failed to get sufficient funding to market them in the US.

Besides, it's like $38 per speaker which isn't all that bad. Plus, he has them hooked up and will let me actually listen to them before I buy. 🙂
