The media is making you think we are all killing each other, but the truth is that violent crime is WAY down decade after decade after decade after decade after decade.

As for the prison population, I am happy to live in a place where the rule of law applies and law breakers are incarcerated rather than allowed to continue infringing on the freedoms of others. I'm not happy about the ones who were incarcerated for BS drug offenses even though I've never touched any (or cigs or alcohol), but it's the laws themselves I have an issue with, not the enforcement (they knew the risk and took that risk).

Our country was founded when it's first citizens took up arms to overthrow a government that was not representative of them and it would not have happened if they could not legally arm themselves. Gun rights are about preventing a slippery slope into a situation many oppressed peoples have found themselves in. I don't own one nor do I desire one and no one I know/associate with has one that I know of, but the "ZOMG! More guns than people!" statistic would have you believe otherwise. 🙄

Went to England ~13 years ago. Met some young people in a pub and that's all they wanted to know...guns in the street, killings on a daily basis, etc. Stupid crap perpetuated by the media.

Discounting suicides.... This is the #1 reason for gun violence in the United States:

The U.S. actually has a low per capita firearm murder rate when you take drug and gang violence out of gun death statistics.

The U.S. Government has created large groups of thugs thanks to the war on poverty and the war on drugs (and also influences the large prison population). But that is a story for another day.
