I have Windows 98 SE and I just reinstalled it...
Now there are all with these extra files in my windows directory with names like detlog.old , MSDos.--- , Setuplog.old , Suhdlog.old , and Win386.swp which is 150 megs... is it safe to delete these??
Thanks in advance for any advice...

You can delete all the *.log, .old and .--- files. However, the win386.swp file is the win98 virtual memory file. You can delete it, but it will return on the next reboot. Some of the other files will return as well.. the log files can help you track down what bombed during boot and etc.
