I want to add bookmarks where I circled in red in the pic. I know I can add a bookmarks toolbar but it takes up space. Can it be done. I want to make use of the space I circled in red somehow before I add a tool bar. Either that or if I can move the line below the red part up to the red part and just shrink the url bar. Then I could add a bookmarks toolbar and not lose space.

I hope that made sense.

Thanks for any help.

So how'd you do it?

If you right click up there you can click customize. Then a box pops up and you can click on add bookmark, then drag it up there.

It took me a few tries to do it, but it finally worked.

Did you need an addon to do that? I couldn't do it either. I could move all the navigational buttons and the stop, refresh etc up there but not a bookmark.

Hey, this really works, I've used it for years.

'right-click' - 'customize' - 'bookmarks toolbar' - drag this toolbar to the desired position - profit

Good luck!

I don't remember ever adding any add ons just the updates firefox automatically gives you.

The trick is to right click up there then hit customize then click "add bookmarks toolbar" and drag it up there. Then right click up there and add all your bookmarks.

First I said to drag "add bookmark" up there (but I think that's wrong) I think I dragged "add bookmarks toolbar" up there.

I got it! Thanks a lot guys 🙂 I'm not sure this is exactly what I want though. I'd like to have the normal bookmarks toolbar in addition to having them on top. I'll keep working at it and see if I can get both.

A small update... I still haven't figured out how to get 2 bookmark toolbars, but I found this cool addon for the existing toolbar. Smart Bookmarks Bar hides the text for your bookmarks, and only shows the icon. The text will appear if you do a mouse over. With creative use of separators, I have a nice bookmark setup, with plenty of room to spare.

It should work... Click on the bar and select customize, your bookmark toolbar will then blank, with a page icon to the left. Click and drag that up to the top bar. After you do that, turn off the bookmark toolbar to get rid of the used space.
