Can someone help me out with battlefield 2042 ?

i bought this game this weekend on a steam sale for 3 euro.

I am trying to play this game local as a campagn and online. It loads to the main screen with a man standing in the middle holding a weapon,then i press conquest , then it searches for something. It syas the game is starting. Then i get a black screen for 30 seconds and then the game goes back to the main screen with a man standing in the middle holding a weapon.
i have setup my firewall and virusscanner to allow the game but i just cannot play the game. Not even locally/solo co-op. Me against the computer.
What am i doing wrong ? It is an EA game.

I think I remember reading that sometimes the anti-cheat needs to be updated. You would have to search for a how to.

I have no idea. After traversing the internet like for example reddit and trying what is recommended. It does not work.
Steam discussions. Nothing that helps.
All my steam games work at once, that is the power of steam games. This game comes with an EA launcher(steam clone) javelin anti cheat and all that nonsense.

I tried it once with the EA program, letting it repair stuff and starteds the game with admin rights. it just does not work. because as admin i got not even a black screen but immediately a message : "Could not connect".

Games where people start to advise to turn off firewalls and virusscanners are on my blacklist.

I asked for a refund. No more EA games. Juck !

I am the same way. No software or website should be asking to disable security or privacy settings. With that said I have never had to disable security software or make firewall or router rules for 2042 to run.

That is what is often given as advice by other gamers: "Turn off firewall or virusscanners".
I gave up on the BF2042 game. There are enough other games to play.

i was just playing microsoft pinball games. That game, that i bought long ago as a CD is like 30 years old and still runs fine today.
And works fine with old 16 button + analog sticks game controllers under windows 10.

And when i finally make the step to windows 11 i will be interested in playing : "DOOM dark ages".
