When the screen is drawn every other line. My old Amiga used interlacing for certain resolutions. And on the old monitors the phosphorous would fade before the screen was redrawn creating an awful flicker.

I know what it is. There is a popular website that has a moving example of it using the Fifth Element. I want to show a co-worker what it looks like exactly.
