Can someone explain what is wrong with my wireless setup?

I have an older Zyxel P330W router to handle the wireless and additional wired connections. It is connected to a AT&T 3800HGV-B DSL modem. The modem's wireless stopped working one day and I used the Zyxel as a bridge. I am using WPA2, SSID is broadcasted, MAC filtering is off. Notebook always connects, but my cell phone, the Wii, Kindle, always loses connection the next day, unless I reboot the router. Previously, I had SSID hidden and MAC filtering on, but on or off, hidden or not, it makes no difference.

Is there a reason the notebook stays connected while the other devices loses connection?

My guess would be that your Zyxel has reached the end of its useful life. If I were you, I would see if there are any firmware updates for it. If there are, try them. If there aren't, it's time to get a new router.

I agree with seepy, calling the Zyxel "old" is being kind, perhaps relic, would better describe it. I'm not sure about your cell phone, but as far as the Wii is concerned, if your router is set to broadcast in "g only" you will have connection problems, despite what the Wii masual says. It is best to set your router to b/g mode.

I have that router and had some trouble with it running WPA2 in bridge mode. Using WPA fixed the issues for me so maybe that's worth trying.

@seepy83, I did check and found a new firmware, well, kind of new, 3 years ago but it's newere than my current firmware. :)

@pete1229, I had b/g mode for the router. Yes, I agree, relic is the correct term for my old ZyXel.

@Gonad, I was all good with WPA2 because all I had at first was a notebook and that never loses connection. I always thought the Wii was flaky or range was poor because it was further away. Then I added a Kindle and two cellphones and found connection problems and it clicked that the Wii probably had the same "issue".

Anyways, thanks for the tips, I'm running the updated firmware and will see how it plays out the next couple of days.
