Can someone explain to me this?

Why is a quadro FX 4500 better than a 7800GTX at rendering for 3dmax, and yet it's the other way around for gaming, anyone have an explanation for me, sorry if this confuses you, an explanation would be appreciated, thanks.

The fx series has some special features that the 7800gtx doesn't have that's only used for rendering. In older cards, the two cores were actually the same and a bios hack was enough to turn one card into the other. I don't know about the current cards.

The fx is slower at gaming supposedly because of higher rendering precision or some such thing.
