Can someone explain to me the ICH4 problem of the P4T533?

Is this a memory problem like the P4T-E had where some had the right memory gen clks and some don't? I'm confused...

no..Asus uses the older ICH-2 (IIRC) and not the newer ICH4 for the southbridge. So they have to include a third party chipset for the USB-2 functionality.

Intel normally packages a southbridge with the northbridge in the case of the 850e they put the ich2
845e/g get the ich4
845/d get the ich2
from what i have heard when intel validates the 850e chipset for pc1066 they will change the letter(850?) and start shipping with ich4
don't ask my why intel chose to make their best performance chipset come w/ the older southbridge, the only reason i can think of is they are trying to phase out their rambus solutions... (doesn't sound very intel like tho... cuz intel is never wrong with a move ;))
