From what I read on <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://reviews-zdnet.com.com/ViewSonic_VA902B___flat_panel_display___TFT__
19_/4507-3174_16-31429126.html">ZDNet</a> the VA902b supports up to 16.2 million colors. From the explanation I received here, that is indicative of it being a 6 bit panel.

When I check out the Comparison Chart on the Viewsonic website, it says it supports 16.7 million colors. In fact, the Comparison Chart shows ALL of the Viewsonic LCD panels supporting 16.7 million colors.

So, are all of the Viewsonic LCD panels 8 bit panels or does the inclusion of the word "supporting" indicate something else?

You suck at teh linking. Use [ L= _link_text ] http://www.blahblah.com/file [ / L ] (without the spaces) to correctly create a hyperlink on this board.

I know some of their monitors (like the VX924) have 6-bit panels, and they seem to not list this information in their monitor specs anymore(?). They're just BSing on that chart.

Edit: Huh. That's weird. The URL I entered was turned into a hyperlink automatically. Did they finally fix the auto-link feature?

16.7 million colors no longer means 8-bit color, it dosnt mean anything anymore.

ViewSonic VA902b has a 19 inch 8 ms TN (AUO M190EN04 V5) panel.
It's a 6-bit. :)

BTW, great site for searching panels: http://www.flatpanels.dk/panels.php
